Witchy Tea Blending Workshop in Dekalb, IL : Botanical Alchemy

Looking for something a little more magical to do this weekend?
This Saturday, September 26, I’ll be teaching Botanical Alchemy: Crafting Teas with Herb, Intention & Ritual at Séance at Tiffany’s in DeKalb, Illinois as part of my Crafting Intentions Workshop Series.
This isn’t a class where you sit and listen to someone talk about herbs for two hours.
You’re going to get your hands into them.
You’ll smell them, taste them, learn about them, experiment with combinations, and ultimately create a tea blend that belongs completely to you.
Step Into the Witch’s Apothecary

Herbs have been used for centuries for far more than simply making something pleasant to drink.
Different plants have long histories in herbal traditions, folklore, ritual and spiritual practice. Some are associated with calm and comfort, while others have traditional connections to things like love, protection, prosperity, intuition and cleansing.
During Botanical Alchemy, we'll explore both sides of the plants we work with: how they contribute to a cup of tea and the traditional spiritual associations people have given them.
Then comes the fun part.
You get to decide what goes into your brew.
Rather than following one recipe that everyone in the room makes, I'll guide you through creating a blend based on the flavors, aromas and intentions that appeal to you.
Choose your herbs. Set your intention. Create your brew. Register here for the September Class: https://seanceattiffanys.com/products/botanical-alchemy-crafting-teas-with-herb-intention-ritual-september-26
What You'll Actually Do in the Workshop

We'll have an apothecary of tea leaves, herbs, flowers, fruits, roots and botanicals available for you to explore.
I'll help you understand how different ingredients work together so you can build a tea that isn't just interesting on paper—it actually tastes good.
We'll talk about things like:
The flavor and aroma different botanicals bring to tea
Traditional herbal uses and folklore
Spiritual and magical correspondences
How to balance stronger herbs with softer flavors
Choosing ingredients around a particular intention
Building a blend you'll actually want to brew again
How to continue experimenting with loose-leaf tea at home
And don't worry if you can't tell chamomile from calendula right now.
No previous herbalism, tea blending or witchcraft experience is necessary.
That's what the class is for.

What Kind of Tea Could You Create?
That's entirely up to you.
Maybe you want something soft and floral to turn your evening tea into a little nightly ritual.
Maybe you're drawn to herbs traditionally associated with protection or intuition.
Maybe you want a bright, fruity blend.
Maybe you want something earthy, strange and very witchy.
Or maybe you're going to start smelling jars until your brain says, "Yep. That one."
That's a perfectly legitimate blending strategy too.
The goal isn't for everyone to leave with the same "perfect" recipe.
It's for you to leave having created something that feels like yours.

Come Alone or Bring Your Coven
You absolutely do not need to bring someone with you.
Workshops like this are actually a great way to meet other people who share an interest in herbs, witchcraft, crafting and the wonderfully unusual.
But if you've been looking for something different to do with your friends, bring them.
Skip the ordinary girls' night and spend a couple of hours playing in a witch's apothecary instead.
